The @angstville chronicles, paintings, drawings and street art comprise a whimsical and weird, conceptually connected comic work by Max Singer.@angstville is the street artist incarnation of The Artist Maxy (aka Max Singer). His unique, colorful and bold imagery has been exhibited widely both in his homebase of New York City, in particular at music and club venues such as the Knitting Factory, as well as various outsider and contemporary venues in his spiritual home of New Orleans, and was featured in the documentary Blood Brothers: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. His work appeared in numerous national publications including High Times, Psychology Today, the NY Times and NY Magazine, to name but a few and was featured in The Society of Illustrators landmark show and book The New Illustration. His politicalcartoons were featured in New York Newsday as well as High Times. Along the way he created animated commentaryfor Hard Copy tv news program, wrote sketches for SNL and was a standup comic at the Improv, NY. His Homefront Comix was a prescient response to 9/11. Max survived the Bush years writing and illustrating his e-zine ScurrilousRag. Read more
